1/2 a year already? How can that be?
On Dylan's 6 month birthday he got sick with a cold and fever. It was sad to see him not feeling his best but he was still my happy easy going guy. Fast forward one week and he was still sick, very sick! He got pneumonia, double ear infections, and was dehydrated. He wasn't such a happy/easy guy, he was either fussy or lethargic and didn't feel like my baby at all. All the antibiotics gave him diarrhea (making moms job to cure dehydration even more challenging) and then he got a viral skin rash too. Ugh! He was nearly hospitalized several times that week. If I didn't know the Doctor on a professional level he would have been hospitalized for sure. His pediatrician gave me the option to put him in the hospital but I made our living room his own unit instead. Momma put her NICU experience to good use and only slept in 1-3 hour increments for days on end. Poor baby Dylan got several antibiotic injections and we went to the Doctor 8 days in a row to check in, plus a Doctors apt the next week too. We are still trying to recover from the whole ordeal.
Besides those 2 1/2 weeks Dylan is doing great! He's so vocal and babbles all the time. And baby's gotten LOUD! He also loves to eat, play with his feet, laugh/watch his brother, and play with toys! Baby toys just don't seem sophisticated enough for him, he wants whatever brother has and it seems the car obsession has already begun. He shows frustrations when he cant play with the things that Kellen and I might be using, like itty bitty legos, paint, or any other choking hazard. He's pretty sure that if Kellen can play with it he should at least be able to explore it too.
