1. being in costume and 2. Lone pine farms.
Every year I say we are going to simplify his parties and every year I just have too much fun coming up with themes, games, and etc. This year I had to out source a little and not make my own birthday cake and food, it was just too impossible with a newborn at home. Everything turned out great and NEXT year I'll simplify a little ;)
We spend a lot of time at lone pine, it's a great place to run around, pick up fresh produce, and of coarse go to the pumpkin patch in the fall. For Kellen's Halloween themed costume party we rented some space right on the property. Activities included decorating pumpkin's, playing on the play ground, having snacks and cake, feeding the goats, and every one's favorite the cow train.
I cant believe my Kellen bear is 4!! I actually had a hard time with this milestone. 4 just seems SO big. He's not my baby boo, or even a toddler, He's (gulp) a BIG kid, a pre-schooler! His personality came out early on. He continues to be independent, strong willed, sensitive to the needs of others, active and very observant, imaginative and animated. He's perfect.
He know his ABC's and can count to 20 (has for a long time) he has really good critical thinking and negotiating skills. His smile, laugh, and snuggling pull at my heart strings like no other. He loves dressing up, superhero's and doing anything active or dangerous. He's not satisfied just riding a bike, scooter, roller skates, or his power wheel, he must do "tricks" with all of them. (he gets that from his father). He's also really into guns, that sounds kinda bad but have YOU played with a nerf gun lately?!
He's taken his roll as "big brother" VERY seriously. He continues to think he's a 3rd parent and wants to help do anything, including helping mom use the breast pump! He talks so sweet to is brother like "hey lil man",
" Hi precious"...He also constantly sings (made up songs often times) to him. When he's not being a 3rd parent he is running around his brother like a wild man or trying to smother him to death with hugs.
I'm 4!
