You saw the pictures from Dylan's birth now here's how the day went ( really delayed post I know!):
7:30am: I was having mild contractions on and off for a few weeks so when I woke up with them Monday morning I didn't get too excited. I had a feeling I would deliver that day but I kept it to myself for awhile because like I said I'd been contracting.
9:30am: went to my OB/GYN apt while Aunt Makenzie watched Kellen. I told her not to go out of town like she planned because of my priminition. At my apt I was 75% effaced, 2-3cm, but baby's head was still up too high and not engaged in my pelvis. An apt was made to get induced in 2 days (at 39wks) because my OB worried he was getting too big. Without ultrasound she guessed him to be 8 lbs, possibly 9, OUCH! I was really worried about a c-section. As I was leaving my Doctor said she wouldn't be surprised if she saw me tonight. After my apt my contractions started getting more regular (good baby!) and I gave Daddy a heads up on when to come home from work
1:30: I went to acupuncture and told Daddy to meet me at home because we'd be leaving sooner than I thought. After calmly doing stuff around the house and make arrangements for Kellen I finally felt like I was in labor, so we're off to the hospital.
4:30pm: Arrived at hospital. I was 4cm (good baby), leaking a little fluid, and having some stronger but irregular contractions. I hung out in the jacuzzi for awhile and bounced on a ball briefly than asked the nurse to check me because I wanted something for pain. I was already 7cm! Hooray. I got my intra-thecal (best thing ever, so much better than an epidural), immediately after my intra-thecal I was 10cm!! My doctor started to explain how she'd break my water when my water broke all over her and everything else. There was a LOT of water. After resting for a bit I pushed him out in 4 easy pushes. As it turns out I had lots of amniotic fluid not a big baby (thank goodness).
8:12pm: My second most amazing, perfect, wonderful little boy entered the world weighing 7 lbs, 5 oz and 20.5inches long. I said "If it was always that easy I would have 5 more". Daddy didn't agree. Next I fed Dylan as daddy called family, then daddy did the first bath, and family came to visit. The day could not have been more quick, calm, or perfect!!!
