10.5 Week Ultrasound
Here is the first look at the next Johnson! I apologize for the poor ultrasound pic, I used my phone to take a picture of a picture. Everything about this pregnancy and the first glimpse of the little one is different that with Kellen. Already they are opposites. Kellen was the easiest pregnancy and delivery ever. At my 10 week ultrasound with Kellen he was moving around in there like a little jumping bean! I immediately knew he was a boy, I just felt it in my bones! Time went by so slow with Kellen, which is a little hard to believe since I was researching every possible baby item like a mad women, and reading every male and female name known on every continent.
This time around hasn't been as easy physically. I cant really complain because I know people have it way harder but I have been more sick and run down, and so hormonal, which has been a little shocking to me. I should probably just start everyday with an "I'm sorry" to Josh for my mood swings...hopefully they wont last the whole pregnancy. As far as my 10.5wk ultrasound this time, the baby was asleep with hand in mouth the whole time. The entire ultrasound she/he stayed in the same position, just quite as could be. I was starting to panic a little because I even drank juice beforehand but the heart rate was strong at 171 so I'm feeling ok now. Overall, I'm more relaxed this pregnancy. I don't feel rushed to buy anything or have things picked out, I'm not even counting down the days until we find out the sex, everything just feels more mellow.
Kellen is SOOOoooOO excited to be a big brother! (poor kid has no idea what he's in for). He calls the baby HIS baby. IE) "when my baby comes out...", "shhh! your too loud for my baby"..."my baby is in your tummy"...and on and on. I'm not sure why he thinks it's his but it's pretty cute! On most mornings he lifts up my shirt and says " yep, your getting bigger! The baby is growing, but you need to get bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger!" Oh dear! Hopefully not that big! LOL. Kellen occasionally tries to feed the baby by putting food in my shirt. The other day he caught me eating the bagel he put in there and got really upset with me because it was clearly for the baby! The next time I was a little more sneaky and when he asked where the bagel went I said the baby ate it, when he asked how I said through my belly button (which is technically not a lie).
I've had been dry heaving a lot (lovely I know), so now Kellen thinks he has to go to the bathroom and lean over the toilet to cough. It breaks my heart. I've tried to explain why I'm doing it and he can just cough normal but he disagrees. I think I'm outgrowing this phase so hopefully he will too!
All in all I cant complain everything is going well (thank you Lord!) and I'm looking forward to second trimester.
Every Kid is different, even before their here!
Signs & symptoms with Kellen (first trimester)
Extreme fatigue ( I was sleeping 10-16hrs a day!, If only I had that luxury now.LOL.)
Crazy/vivid dreams
Constipation
Sensitive breasts
Drinking lots of water
Signs & Symptoms for Baby # 2 (first trimester, wks 1-12)
crazy/vivid dreams mixed with insomnia
Nausea and occasional vomiting
Indigestion
Mood swings
Really tired but not extreme fatigue like with Kellen
Sensitive breasts
Belly & boob bulge already
I was back and forth between extreme hunger and nausea. I was eating nothing but carbs for awhile, thankfully that has settled down. I haven't had any intense cravings but I have been eating more cheese than normal and Ranch on my salads which I've never done. Most things except carbs don't sound good. Especially protein and coffee (lucky for the baby my caffeine addiction was rapidly kicked!).
