Kellen is at such a fun age! Every new stage I love more than the last. I love his imagination and how he says the funniest things. This year his play has advanced from "parallel play" to actively playing with friends and pretending more. This type of play is called social, pretend, cooperative, or a bunch of other names according to different childhood developmental specialist. I just call it dang cute!!
His "advancement" in play all started several months back... He would be playing with his little motorcycles and motorcycles riders, he'd be the voice for the men who carried on these adorable conversations and narrations. He'd be like "c'mon buddy, let's go jump a ramp....vrooom, vroom, whoa, look at that jump....". After several months of playing like this he started requesting to BE people. IE) "Mommy, I wanna be dat fireman, I need fireman suit! Mommy I need dat motorcycle suit, Mommy, see dat suit? I wanna be that _______ guy". or " Mommy, I a Dr., Mommy I a star wars robot, Mommy your a princess..."
So needless to say I stocked up on Halloween costumes and we've been doing lots of pretend play. We're both quite amazing actors :) It's been so much fun and I love the scenes and stories he comes up with!
